Torroella de Montgrí boasts several outstanding attractions. First of all, you have the castle of Montgrí, an unfinished but well-preserved fortification that offers wonderful views over Baix Empordà. This is a mediaeval town with corners where time seems to have stood still. Along its narrow, rambling streets, protected by the old town walls, you can admire the torre de les Bruixes (Witches’ tower) and the gateway of Santa Caterina. The beach is another great attraction thanks to the glistening water of L’Estartit and the Medes islands, an underwater nature reserve. And there is plenty of culture and tradition as well. In the summer the town sounds great thanks to the International Music Festival. As you can see, Torroella de Montgrí is a jewel just waiting to be explored.
