You can also spend a few days at Camping Interpals, in Pals, or go to L’ Estartit and sleep in one of the best campsites on the whole route, Camping Les Medes or Càmping Rifort.
Besides the four itineraries mentioned above, there are some additional routes. One of these routes passes through Peralada and Figueres, near Garriguella, where there is Camping Vell Empordà, a perfect place for those attracted as much by the sea as by the mountain. One hour (by bicycle) from Garriguella is the delightful village of Sant Pere Pescador, with two perfect campsites for this kind of itinerary, Camping Aquarius and Camping Las Dunas.
Very close to Banyoles’ Lake, which hosted some events from Barcelona Olympic Games 1992, we’ll find Camping Esponellà in the same village Esponellà.
Campings Tres Estrelles Costa Brava in Palamós is right at the start of the Green Way that joins Palamós with Palafrugell along the Ruta del Tren Petit. Camping La Siesta is at the other end of this route, in Calella de Palafrugell.
The Castelló d’Empúries- Empuriabrava- Roses route allows you to discover the historic centre of Castelló d’Empúries, where you will also find Camping Laguna, an ideal location for a couple of restful days. If visiting this area, you can spend a few days in Roses and reserve your stay at Camping Joncar Mar or Camping Salatà, or visit the lovely church of Sant Pere in the town of Albanyà (25 km from Figueres) and spend the night at Camping Bassegoda Park.
Make sure that your plans include a cycling route along the coast, visiting Blanes and Lloret de Mar and sleep at Camping Bella Terra or Camping Solmar. Both offer a cycle hire service, tools and guided tours around the area. Camping Lloret Blau and Camping Sènia Tucan in Lloret de Mar offer the opportunity to take guided cycle excursions in their green areas, in addition to a bicycle hire service.
If you don’t like having to choose and want everything included in the Bed & Bike Friendly route, you can enjoy the best cycle routes along the Costa Brava, the mountains and the Pyrenees with your friends and family because sometimes, you really can have it all!
