The summer of 2020 is sure to be one that’s well-remembered. Not only because the summer months are always unforgettable, but also due to the numerous days we’ve been in lockdown without being able to enjoy the fresh air. This is why there’s feverish work underway at Càmpings de Girona to enable you to come and find out more about one of the most charming parts of the country and to do so a safe and convenient way at one of the campsites on the Costa Brava or in the Girona Pyrenees.
If you haven’t visited the province of Girona yet, these holidays will provide a good chance to do so with your partner, family or friends. The Costa Brava stretches from Blanes to Port Bou and covers more than 200 kilometres with coves and beaches blessed with crystalline waters, stunning cliffs and a wide range of natural settings. Similarly, a few hours from the coast you’ll find the Girona Pyrenees, with lush forests and peaks waiting to be explored.
It’s a distinctive region characterised by its friendly people, its history, culture and traditions and the wide array of experiences to be enjoyed, including hiking, cycling trips, flights in hot-air balloons, cultural visits, hidden spots where you can relax, gastronomic tours, wine tasting and many other activities.
We know this summer will be a little different from previous ones, which is why we’re working hard to welcome you as you deserve. At Càmpings de Girona we’ve listed five reasons why we think we can encourage you to spend your holiday with us somewhere in the province of Girona.
1- The campsites have come together to ensure campers’ health and safety
At Càmpings de Girona we’re really looking forward to the launch of the summer season. Why are we so excited? Because, over the last two months, all the campsites in Girona have been working together to organise one of their most atypical seasons, but this has also motivated us as a result of the challenges that we’ve been set. As a result of all this work and effort, WeCare has come into being. WeCare is a roadmap created by Càmpings de Girona that will encompass compliance with the safety measures, the adaptation of health protocols, the actions of the campsite personnel and the conduct of everyone who visits all the campsites in the region.
These measures include:
2- Facilities equipped with everything you need
The vast majority of campsites on the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees have a wide range of services to guarantee the coverage of everyone’s basic needs, which means that you won’t have to make any unnecessary journeys. These needs include food, hygiene, health, protection and safety.
This year, the campsites of the province of Girona will focus their efforts on cleaning and disinfecting their communal areas, including the supermarkets, showers, reception areas, swimming pools and play areas. They’ll also provide dispensers with disinfectant soap at different locations around the campsites.
3- Outdoors
One of the things that characterise campsites is their strategic position on the map. All the campsites in the province of Girona stretch out over large areas of land, enabling the campers to live as they normally do, avoiding crowds and relaxing on pitches or in bungalows without having to have contact with large crowds of people.
In addition, the campsites are usually located in key geographical locations in the territory, allowing you to enjoy the natural settings with great ease, both inside and outside the facilities.
4- Activities for children and grown-ups
You can be sure that you’ll never get bored at the campsite. Many of the campsites on the Costa Brava and in the Girona Pyrenees put on a wide range of activities to ensure that both the younger and the older campers all have fun.
If you don’t know how to sit still, you can break a sweat while enjoying the various sporting activities available or, if you’ve come to relax and recuperate some energy, you can attend the yoga, relaxation and cookery classes and much more.
If you’re interested in these activities, take a look at the website of the campsite you’d like to go to and obtain more information on what’s on offer.
5- Great experts on the region
Finally, you’ll find people with broad local knowledge at the campsites. If you have any questions during your stay, you won’t need to do an online search; at the reception desks you’ll find qualified staff who’ll provide information on the activities available in the area, the typical points of interest, the idyllic landscapes, the guided routes and tours, museums tickets, the gastronomy and so on.
The campsite staff will also be able to inform you of the preventive measures that are being implemented in and outside the facilities and they’ll provide you with protective equipment if you need any.
We hope that the beauty of the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees and the five aspects you have just read will persuade you to visit the counties of Girona and discover one of the most attractive areas in our country.
If you need any further information, you’ll find various posts on the Inspira’t blog that are sure to help you to decide.
We’re ready to go and some campsites will be opening on 19th June!
We look forward to seeing you!
