One of the most famous regions is the Empord\u00e0, a spot where a multitude of visitors immerse themselves in a dreamlike landscape. The region is home to several protected areas, including the Aiguamolls de l&#8217;Empord\u00e0 Nature Reserve, the Montgr\u00ed Nature Reserve, the Medes Islands, and the Cap de Creus Nature Reserve. Numerous idyllic spots in a small geographical region: no wonder even the locals are in love!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This long stretch of coastline inspired artists such as Picasso, Klein, and Marc Chagall. However, it was Salvador Dal\u00ed who put this small coastal region in Catalonia on the international art map. Landscape blessed with pine trees, small coves between rugged cliffs, the crystalline sea, fishing villages with white houses, and the Empord\u00e0\u2019s impressive flora and fauna feature in much of his work. The Dal\u00ed Theatre-Museum and the Dal\u00ed Jewels Museum in Figueres, the Salvador Dal\u00ed House in Portlligat &#8211; Cadaqu\u00e9s, and the Gala Dal\u00ed Castle in P\u00fabol. Some information about what to expect in each museum is provided below:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dal\u00ed Theatre-Museum:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0the old theatre of Figueres with its towers crowned with eggs, the crusty bread decorating the fa\u00e7ade, and a huge dome create an extremely striking building. Once inside, visitors encounter more than 1,500 original works. The most noteworthy include \u201cThe Spectre of Sex-Appeal\u201d, \u201cGalatea of the Spheres\u201d and \u201cGala Nude Looking at the Sea Which at 18 Metres Appears the President Lincoln\u201d. But there\u2019s more than just framed paintings. A courtyard also features a car where it\u2019s raining inside. Isn\u2019t that strange! Did you know that this courtyard is also where the painter from Figueres is buried?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Dal\u00ed Jewels:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0this permanent exhibition is in the same building as the Dal\u00ed Theatre-Museum. It houses the jewels that the painter designed between 1941 and 1979, alongside the sketches and preliminary designs. The collection boasts 37 gold jewels and precious materials that belonged to the Owen Cheatham family from America. Before reaching Figueres, the jewels passed through Saudi Arabia and Japan until finally being acquired by the Foundation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2628 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/campingsingirona.com\/inspirat\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/TMD_CupulaTorreGalatea-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"726\" height=\"726\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Gala Dal\u00ed Castle:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0moving on to the small inland village of La Pera. Here, Salvador Dal\u00ed restored an old medieval castle, which he gifted his wife, Gala. The garden features statues of surrealist elephants and a swimming pool surrounded by busts of the composer Richard Wagner. Not a bad present, right?!<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Salvador Dal\u00ed House:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0one of the most iconic towns of the Costa Brava lies just 36 km away: Cadaqu\u00e9s. The house where Dal\u00ed lived is in the Port Lligat area, a beautiful spot home to white fishermen&#8217;s houses. Dal\u00ed fell in love with this landscape due to its light and the calmness of a cove on the Costa Brava. A visit reveals the artist\u2019s most intimate side.
