Here you will be surrounded by a beautiful natural environment and be able to calmly observe the majesty of the volcanoes and a landscape with the most unique vegetation and fauna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if you look for information in the same network of the Garrotxa Volcanic Park, you will find a network of\u00a0<strong>signposted footpaths and routes<\/strong>\u00a0of different distances and levels.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below,\u00a0<strong>we suggest three routes<\/strong>\u00a0that pass through some of the essential highlights of the park. If you want to discover more trails along the Route of the Volcanoes, you can\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/parcsnaturals.gencat.cat\/ca\/xarxa-de-parcs\/garrotxa\/gaudeix-del-parc\/equipaments-i-itineraris\/%20itinerarios\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">find them all on the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><strong>Itinerary 1: La Fageda d&#8217;en Jord\u00e0 &#8211; Santa Margarida Volcano &#8211; Croscat Volcano<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is probably\u00a0<strong>one of the most complete routes<\/strong>\u00a0to get to know the must-see places in the area. Designed to be done as a loop, it covers a total distance of\u00a0<strong>12 kilometres<\/strong>\u00a0and a time of between\u00a0<strong>4.5 to 5 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an ideal route to do with children, because\u00a0<strong>it is technically simple<\/strong>\u00a0and very well signposted. The lava flows followed the river courses and solidified. Subsequently, the river deposited boulders, sand and silt that were trapped under the next lava flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><strong>Itinerary 19: Volcanoes and castles<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We finish our selection of itineraries of the Route of the Volcanoes, with a fantastic excursion that brings\u00a0<strong>nature and heritage<\/strong> together. This is a more difficult route than the previous ones, especially because of its 17 kilometres of trails, starting from Sant Feliu de Pallerols, to discover a surprising Romanesque heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the\u00a0<strong>heritage site<\/strong>\u00a0you can find are: the Hostoles Castle and the Colltort, the Sanctuary of La Salut and the medieval bridge of Sant Sebasti\u00e0, among others. Stay alert!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The volcano of Santa Margarida<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the\u00a0<strong>most famous<\/strong>\u00a0of the whole volcanic park and according to experts, it is a mixed type volcano that went through several explosive eruptive phases, resulting in a large and very unique circular crater of 330 metres in diameter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, this crater is the most photographed postcard image of the park and is easily accessible, as there is a car park nearby. It is the youngest volcano, but at the same time,\u00a0<strong>the largest in the Iberian Peninsula<\/strong>.
