This is a mediaeval town with corners where time seems to have stood still. Along its narrow, rambling streets, protected by the old town walls, you can admire the torre de les Bruixes (Witches&#8217; tower) and the gateway of Santa Caterina. The beach is another great attraction thanks to the glistening water of L\u2019Estartit and the Medes islands, an underwater nature reserve. And there is plenty of culture and tradition as well. In the summer the town sounds great thanks to the International Music Festival.
