JETZT ABSTIMMEN for the Camping of the year 2025
If you’re looking for a short but intense getaway, the Costa Brava is a perfect destination to explore in 4 days. Its rugged coastline, picturesque villages, hidden coves, and natural parks make this area a little paradise to discover at your own pace.
From the Girona Campsite Association, we offer you a route designed to be done by car, camper, or motorhome, staying in campsites with quality services and privileged surroundings. Pack your backpack: the adventure begins!
Your route begins in Blanes, the southern „gateway“ to the Costa Brava. Here, you can visit the Marimurtra Botanical Garden, offering spectacular views over the cliffs, or start tasting the sea at Cala Sant Francesc.
Continue to Lloret de Mar, home to well-known beaches like Santa Cristina or more hidden coves such as Cala dels Frares. The coastal path between Lloret and Fenals is short and beautiful, perfect for families with children. Don’t miss the Santa Clotilde Gardens, located atop a cliff with views of the Mediterranean.
End the day in Tossa de Mar, one of the most beautiful villages in the area, with its walled enclosure right next to the sea.
In this area, you’ll find several campsites with bungalows or pitches to spend the night surrounded by nature yet close to the urban center:
The second day takes you to the heart of the Costa Brava. In Sant Feliu de Guíxols, you can take a stroll around the port or hike up to the Sant Elm hermitage for a panoramic view of the coastline.
Continue to S’Agaró and Platja d’Aro, where the coastal path of Cala Sa Conca is one of the most beautiful. Then, explore Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc, and Tamariu, three seaside villages with spectacular coves, cobbled streets, and a lively atmosphere.
This area has well-equipped campsites: pools, restaurants, children’s areas, and shaded pitches. It’s perfect for relaxing after an intense day.
Today, you’ll explore the Baix Empordà, one of the most distinctive areas of the Costa Brava. Start in Pals, a well-preserved medieval village with towers, narrow streets, and local crafts.
Continue to Peratallada or Monells, two charming little villages, perfect for strolling and having a vermouth or lunch in the square. In the afternoon, head back to the coast to visit L’Escala and Sant Martí d’Empúries. Here, you can walk along the seafront, visit the Greco-Roman ruins, or swim at the nearby beaches.
There are family-friendly campsites near these towns, some with direct beach access or activities for children.
The last day can be dedicated to Cap de Creus, one of the most authentic and least developed areas of the Alt Empordà. Start in Roses, with family-friendly beaches and views over the Gulf of Roses. Visit the Citadel or the Castle of the Trinity.
Continue along the panoramic road to Cadaqués, a white, artistic village that captivated Dalí. To finish, head to the Cap de Creus Lighthouse to see one of the most beautiful sunsets in Catalonia.
In this area, you’ll find perfect campsites to spend the last night and say goodbye to the journey in peace.
With this route, you’ll get an intense taste of the best the province has to offer: sea, villages, history, and nature. If you have an extra day, you can extend it into a 5-day Costa Brava route, adding areas like the Montgrí Natural Park, the Medes Islands, and the Baix Ter, with activities such as snorkeling or kayaking.
Driving along the Costa Brava is an experience in itself: roads winding between cliffs and Mediterranean forests, with views of the sea and postcard-perfect villages. If you’re traveling by car, you can stop at beaches, viewpoints, or local markets. Campsites are an ideal base for combining coastal stretches with inland getaways.
If you’re traveling by camper or motorhome, the Costa Brava makes it easy: many campsites have specific areas with services like waste disposal, electricity, communal kitchens, and even Wi-Fi. You combine the freedom of moving at your own pace with the security and comfort of accommodation with services.
In addition to the more well-known spots, we recommend adding hidden gems like Begur, Sa Tuna, or Aiguablava to your itinerary. They are perfect for a quick visit or for staying a couple of nights. In the area, many campsites blend seamlessly with the landscape, offering a relaxing and natural experience.
Remember to book in advance and choose a campsite that fits your travel style: family-friendly, adventurous, relaxing, pet-friendly, or with kids. In Girona and the Costa Brava, there are options for everyone.
